Our commitment
All mortgage and financial content published on this website is written or reviewed by qualified mortgage advisers who hold relevant professional qualifications and are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We are committed to providing accurate, clear and up-to-date information that helps people understand their mortgage and protection options.
Lockhart Murphy Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Our FCA registration can be verified on the Financial Services Register.
Who writes our content
Content on this site is produced by, or in collaboration with, our team of qualified mortgage and protection advisers. Our advisers hold the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP), the industry-standard qualification for mortgage advisers in the United Kingdom, and some hold additional qualifications including a law degree (LLB).
Where a page carries a "Reviewed by" attribution, that adviser is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the content against current lender criteria, FCA guidance and market conditions as at the stated review date.

How we review content
Mortgage criteria, interest rates and regulatory requirements change frequently. We aim to review all substantive service and guidance pages at least annually, or sooner when a significant market or regulatory change makes an earlier update necessary.
When a piece of content is reviewed, a qualified adviser reads it in full, checks all claims against current lender criteria and FCA guidance, updates any figures or statements that have become inaccurate, and updates the review date. The reviewer's name is published on the page alongside the review date.
What our content is and is not
The information on this website is provided for general educational purposes. It is intended to help you understand how mortgages, protection products and the lending market work — not to constitute personalised financial advice.
A mortgage is a significant long-term financial commitment. We always recommend speaking to a qualified adviser before making any decision. Lockhart Murphy's advisers provide regulated, personalised mortgage advice based on your individual circumstances.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
Sources and accuracy
Where we reference statistics, rates or regulatory information, we aim to cite the original source. Interest rate figures and lender criteria change frequently and may differ from the position at the time a page was last reviewed. Always verify current rates and criteria directly with a lender or qualified adviser before relying on them for a financial decision.
Corrections and feedback
If you believe any content on this website is inaccurate, outdated or misleading, please contact us at hello@lockhartmurphy.com. We investigate all reported inaccuracies and update content where corrections are required.
Commercial relationships
Lockhart Murphy is a whole-of-market mortgage broker. We do not receive payment from lenders to feature their products in our content, and lender recommendations are based solely on suitability for the client's individual circumstances. We may receive procuration fees from lenders when a mortgage completes — this is standard in the mortgage advice industry and is disclosed in our client documentation.
