AIP (Agreement in Principle)

Agreement in Principle is another name for a Decision in Principle (DIP).. It is a written statement from a lender confirming they would be willing to lend you a certain amount, subject to full underwriting and a formal application. Estate agents commonly ask for an AIP before accepting an offer.
