Gifted Deposit
A gifted deposit is a deposit — or part of a deposit — given to a buyer by a family member as a gift, not a loan.. Most lenders accept gifted deposits but require a signed declaration from the donor confirming the money is a genuine gift with no expectation of repayment and that they have no interest in the property. The source of the donor's funds will also be verified.
