Limited Company Buy to Let
A limited company buy-to-let mortgage is taken out in the name of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) — a company set up specifically to hold property.. Higher-rate taxpayers often use this structure because corporation tax rates on rental profits may be more favourable than personal income tax rates, and mortgage interest is fully deductible as a business expense within the company. However, extracting profits as salary or dividends creates further tax events.
