First-Time Buyer

A first-time buyer is someone who has never previously owned a residential property anywhere in the world.. First-time buyer status qualifies you for Stamp Duty Land Tax relief on properties up to certain values in England and Northern Ireland. Some mortgage products and government schemes are specifically aimed at first-time buyers

If you are buying with a partner who has previously owned a property, you will not qualify for first-time buyer status.
